Caring for Your UNIKILN Porcelain

Handcrafted porcelain is durable yet requires thoughtful care to ensure it ages beautifully through decades of daily ritual.

Cleaning & Daily Use

• Hand Wash: We strongly recommend hand washing with a soft sponge and mild detergent.
• Dishwasher: While most of our high-fired pieces are dishwasher safe, the intense agitation may dull specialized glazes over time. Use a gentle cycle if necessary.
• Microwave: Pieces without metallic lusters are microwave safe. However, avoid rapid temperature shifts.

Thermal Shock

Do not move porcelain directly from a refrigerator to a hot oven or vice versa. Extreme temperature changes (thermal shock) can cause the clay body to stress or crack.

The Maker’s Trace

Remember that handcrafted porcelain is alive. Slight variations in glaze texture or small irregularities are signs of the fire and the hand — they are not defects, but the archive of its creation.
